Prince Harry ‘Stunned’ by Harsh Reality About Meghan Markle
Prince Harry was reportedly furious after learning that his memoir Spare and Meghan Markle’s Netflix series were hurting “his brand,” according to Tom Bower’s new book Betrayal: Power, Deceit and the Fight for the Future of the Royal Family. The 41-year-old, who lives in California with Meghan and their two children, allegedly criticized Sophie Chandauka, chairwoman of his charity Sentebale, for carrying out a brand audit.
Chandauka reportedly told Harry, ‘People don’t want to be associated with your Netflix shows and especially not with Meghan.’
She also “implied that he had suffered psychological harm” from the findings.
The survey discovered that Meghan had little brand value in America and “across the globe, she actually damaged Harry’s remaining brand value.”
Harry was reportedly “stunned” by the news. He told Chandauka that Johnny Depp had still earned money despite controversies, asking, ‘Couldn’t he do the same?’ Chandauka replied, ‘Times have changed. The proof was in the finances.’
The book also says Harry showed “coolness” toward Chandauka during a flight to Singapore in 2023, in route to a fundraising trip to Tokyo. The findings highlighted not only risks to his personal image but also problems within the charity he co-founded in 2006.
