Labubu Dolls Will Soon Become Star, Heads To The Big Screen.
The worldwide trendy dolls Labubu, are not only stays mere a toy but they will hit into cinemas soon. China’s Pop Mart and Sony Pictures revealed details about their upcoming collaboration, they explained that a Labubu movie has been planned and currently it is in the early development stage. According to a report by Business Insider, both the companies shared details about the film and stated:
“The film will be a live-action and CGI hybrid bringing LABUBU’s whimsical world to the screen. It is still in early development.”
Paul King, known for Wonka and Paddington will be directed the project, though no release date has yet been confirmed.
Paul King combines the film will live-action footage with animated elements. Labubu creator Kasing Lung will serve as an executive producer, ensuring the film stays true to the whimsical spirit of the original universe. The producing team also includes King, Michael Schaefer (The Martian), and Wenxin She (A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, Wish Dragon). Brittany Morrissey will oversee the project for Sony Pictures.
King’s work is known for its distinguishing visual style, gentle humor, and strong sense of quirkiness—abilities that make him a great fit for bringing a character like Labubu to life.
The Labubu Dolls enthusiasm hit the spotlight for five years later, Blackpink’s Lisa, Simone Biles and Kylie Jenner started adding these gems to their purses.
