Kerosene oil price increase by Rs 70 per litre in Pakistan - check new rates
ISLAMABAD: The federal government has raised the price of kerosene oil by a big margin of Rs 70.73 per liter due to rising global oil prices. After this increase, the new price of kerosene has reached Rs 428.74 per liter. The new rate is effective immediately across the country.
This latest hike comes just a week after kerosene prices were increased by Rs 39.20 per liter, adding more pressure on consumers who already rely on it for daily use.
However, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided not to increase petrol and diesel prices for now. He rejected proposals that suggested raising petrol by Rs 50 per liter and diesel by Rs 74 per liter.
The prime minister said that during the Eid season, the government wanted to give relief to the public. He also shared that the government has already spent Rs 69 billion to stop earlier planned increases of Rs 127 per liter for petrol and Rs 252 per liter for diesel.
The decision aims to balance rising global oil prices while providing some relief to the public during the festive period.
