Matric Exams Postponed Over Security Concerns

25 March, 2026 12:25

The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has announced the postponement of matriculation exams at several overseas centers due to ongoing security and regional tensions.

According to a notification from the board, exams have been delayed at centers in Iran, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain for the time being.

Officials emphasized that this decision was made “keeping in mind the current security situation and regional conditions to ensure the safety of students.”

The board further stated that the issuance of roll number slips for these countries has been temporarily halted. However, examinations at all other international centers will proceed according to the previously announced schedule.

To accommodate affected students, the board said they will be given the option to “take the exam in Pakistan or a nearby country.” Additionally, the board assured that any logistical issues at exam centers will be addressed immediately to prevent disruption of students’ academic activities.

The Federal Board clarified that the situation will be reassessed after 15 days. If conditions improve, new dates will be announced; otherwise, exams at all remaining centers will proceed as originally scheduled.
