PESHAWAR: The government has announced a new timetable for public schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the new schedule, primary school students will attend school from 7:30 am. The school day will end at 1:35 pm.

The assembly will now include moral training for students. It will also have speeches on different topics and practical activities to help students learn better values.

Schools have been directed to teach moral education three days a week through speeches and three days through role-play or short performances.

School heads have also been told to organize a weekly “Bazm-e-Adab” on the last working day of each week. This activity will help improve students’ speaking and creative skills.

After Bazm-e-Adab, the last three periods of the day will be used for staff meetings and completing official records, according to the notification.

In case of teacher shortages or long leaves, headteachers and subject specialists will take classes to ensure studies continue without interruption.

All district education officers have been instructed to make sure that the new timetable is followed strictly in all schools.
