Govt Not Responsible for Fuel Price Increase: Rana Sanaullah
Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah has said that the prices of petroleum products are increasing globally and it is not the government’s fault.
Rana Sanaullah said that the government has tried to keep prices low and steps are being taken to provide relief to the poor.
He said that the government is trying to end the war that is causing the increase in the prices of petroleum products. Some people want to protest to advance their political agenda. They are inciting people against the government. The protest should be against Israel.
He further said that if the war continues, we may face even worse conditions. We have to cope with the situation and not hold each other’s necks. Petrol and diesel are not available in different countries of the world.
On the other hand, addressing the cabinet meeting, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said that the federation has increased the burden of inflation by increasing the prices of petrol and diesel. Temporary and showy measures will not solve the problems, a permanent and long-term policy is indispensable.
He said that the government does not have a clear plan to overcome the crisis. The federal government should immediately present a clear and comprehensive economic policy.
It should be noted that after global price increases, the prices of petrol and diesel were increased in the country and the public has been outraged.
After an increase of Rs 137.24, a liter of petrol became Rs 458.41 and diesel became Rs 520.35 after an increase of Rs 184.50.
