Brittany Maturan and Bryan Rubio recently celebrated their engagement with a Ratatouille-themed party that impressed guests and social media audiences alike. The couple, known among friends as a “Disney couple,” carefully planned every detail to reflect their shared personality and love story.

A Romantic Proposal Story

The couple’s journey began during their school years and later rekindled in 2016 at a gym, eventually turning into a relationship in 2017. Their love story reached a milestone during a trip to Japan when Bryan proposed in a memorable setting. Sharing the moment, Brittany said:

“In late December last year, we went on our dream trip to Japan — where he swore he wasn’t going to propose — mainly to visit Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea. He had actually hired a secret photographer and proposed at Osaka Castle during what I thought was just a nice walk.”

The couple is now planning their wedding for June 2027 at Falkner Winery in Temecula, California.

Hosted in March 2026 with around 75 guests, the engagement party featured a charming bistro-style outdoor setup. White chairs, red checkered tablecloths, and Parisian-inspired décor created an atmosphere reminiscent of the beloved Pixar film.

Guests were delighted by thoughtful elements such as hand-drawn cookies, themed drinks, pizza, and carefully selected tableware that aligned perfectly with the Ratatouille concept. The theme remained a surprise until guests arrived, making the reveal even more exciting.

A Celebration Reflecting Their Love Story

While planning the event, Brittany and Bryan focused on authenticity rather than traditional themes. After exploring ideas on social media platforms, they decided to create something that truly represented their relationship.

Explaining their vision, Brittany shared:

“When we started thinking of what we wanted our engagement party to look like, we really wanted to focus on us as a couple and how we could celebrate our relationship. The typical themes we were seeing on Pinterest or TikTok just didn’t scream ‘Brittany and Bryan,’ and didn’t seem authentic to us and our relationship. We were torn because we’ve always been known as the ‘Disney couple’ to our family and friends, but didn’t want something too Disney.”

Their final choice—a subtle yet creative Disney-Pixar-inspired theme—perfectly balanced personal meaning with visual charm, leaving guests inspired and delighted.
