Ishaq Dar Says US-Iran Talks Will Continue

Ishaq Dar, deputy prime minister and foreign minister, hopefully said that talks between the United States (US) and Iran will carry on accordingly.
Dar thanked delegations from both sides for participation in the negotiation, observing that they positively reacted to the request of the prime minister, addressing the press in Islamabad.
Ishaq Dar went on to say that the Iranian delegation was led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, while the US group was led by Vice President JD Vance.
Pakistan will continue to act as a mediator in the two nations’ negotiations, according to Ishaq Dar. In order to guarantee enduring peace and development in the area and beyond, he expressed hope that both sides will proceed with a positive strategy.
A precarious two-week ceasefire was put in jeopardy when US Vice President JD Vance announced earlier on Sunday that his negotiation team was leaving Pakistan after failing to strike an agreement with Iran after 21 hours of talks in Islamabad.
“The bad news is that we have not reached an agreement, and I think that’s bad news for Iran much more than it’s bad news for the United States of America,” Vance said to reporters after the dialogue finished. “So we go back to the United States having not come to an agreement. We’ve made very clear what our red lines are.”
Vance pointed out flaws in the negotiations and claimed Iran had refused to accept American demands, such as refraining from developing nuclear weapons. Shortly afterward, Vance boarded Air Force Two in Islamabad and waved goodbye from the top of the stairs.
