Punjab bans mobile phone use for teachers during school hours

Education authorities in Punjab have introduced new disciplinary rules for teachers, banning the use of mobile phones during official school hours, especially inside classrooms.

The step has been taken to reduce distractions and improve the learning environment for students. Officials said the aim is to ensure better discipline and more professional behavior in schools.

Under the new instructions, teachers are also not allowed to record videos or take photos of students or staff without permission. This measure has been introduced to protect privacy and maintain student safety.

The rules have been issued under the Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline, and Accountability Act. Authorities warned that any violation of these guidelines could result in strict action against the concerned teacher.

Officials added that the purpose of these changes is to keep classrooms focused on studies and to improve overall standards in the education system.
