Government Announces Public Holiday on Labour Day

The Punjab government has officially declared Friday (tomorrow) as a public holiday on the occasion of May Day.

According to a notification issued on Thursday, all government offices and markets across the province will remain closed.

May Day, also known as Labour Day, is observed every year on May 1 around the world. The day is dedicated to showing support for workers and recognizing the rights of the working class.

It is also observed to highlight the importance of protecting labourers and industrial workers from exploitation and to promote better working conditions and job security.

With this holiday, all public and commercial activities in Punjab will remain suspended for the day.
