Federal Government Refuses to Restore Gas Supply to CNG Stations in KP

01 May, 2026 08:14

The federal government has refused to restore gas supply to CNG stations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This was confirmed by official sources.

KP Finance Adviser Muzammil Aslam called Federal Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik. He told the minister that the closure of CNG stations is causing serious problems for people in the province. Commuters and transport businesses are badly affected.

After the call, Muzammil Aslam briefed the KP Chief Minister about the response from the federal government.

Ali Pervaiz Malik told him that Pakistan is currently facing a gas shortage. He said the issue of providing extra gas to KP could only be considered after LNG is imported. No timeline was given for this.

This means there is no immediate relief for CNG stations in KP. The suspension of gas supply is continuing. People who depend on CNG for transport are facing daily difficulties with no solution in sight.
