Karachi’s Shahrah-e-Faisal gets updated vehicle speed limits
The Karachi Traffic Police have changed the speed limits on Shahrah-e-Faisal to improve traffic flow and make roads safer.
According to a notification from the DIG Traffic Office, new rules have now been implemented for all types of vehicles. Heavy transport vehicles such as buses and trucks will still be allowed to drive at a maximum speed of 30 km/h.
However, the speed limit for cars, light transport vehicles, and motorcycles has been increased to 70 km/h.
Sindh Police said the decision aims to reduce accidents and improve overall road safety in the city. They also asked citizens to follow the new limits carefully to avoid fines and help keep traffic moving smoothly.
Earlier, in November last year, the speed limits were lower, with light vehicles and motorcycles allowed up to 60 km/h on major roads including Shahrah-e-Faisal, while heavy vehicles were restricted to 30 km/h.
