KMC approves establish of five new cattle markets across Karachi - check locations
Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has received approval from the Commissioner of Karachi to set up new cattle markets at five different locations across the city.
This step is part of a plan to reduce crowding in residential areas and better manage the sale of animals, especially during busy seasons.
The approved sites include North Karachi’s Sunday Bazaar, KMC Ground, Safari Park Karachi, and two blocks in Gulistan-e-Jauhar (Blocks 5 and 6). Other locations include Lyari’s Bakra Pedi and selected empty plots in Korangi.
Earlier, KMC had suggested 11 locations, but only five were approved in the final decision to ensure better management and control.
These new cattle markets will work alongside the existing large market at Northern Bypass, which is the main hub during Eid and other festive seasons.
Officials said the new setup will help reduce pressure on the Northern Bypass market and make it easier for people to buy animals closer to their homes.
They also confirmed that proper cleanliness and safety rules will be followed at all locations to protect public health.
