Operation Bunyan-ul-Marsoos Sends Clear Message of Peace, Sovereignty and National Resolve: Ishaq Dar

07 May, 2026 13:57

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has said that Operation Bunyan-ul-Marsoos delivered a clear and decisive message that Pakistan stands for peace but will never compromise on its dignity, sovereignty, territorial integrity, or political independence.

In his message on the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, Ishaq Dar described the operation as a calibrated and resolute response that marked a defining moment in Pakistan’s national journey, reflecting courage, unity, and determination.

He stated that “On this day, I salute the bravery of our armed forces, our sons and daughters, who rose with discipline and determination to defend our homeland. I also salute the people of Pakistan, whose unity became our greatest strength. Because when the nation stands as one, no force on earth can shake its foundations.”

Dar said that in response to what he called external aggression, Pakistan under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif acted with calm resolve and moral clarity, ensuring a measured, responsible, and precise response guided by principles rather than emotion.

He added that Operation Bunyan-ul-Marsoos was not only a military achievement but also a demonstration of Pakistan’s right to self-defence under the UN Charter. He noted that the response targeted only military installations of the aggressor and was carried out with discipline and proportionality under the leadership of then military command.

The Deputy Prime Minister praised the Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy for their operational readiness and performance. He highlighted achievements under Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu, including the downing of enemy aircraft and neutralization of key targets, while also noting the Navy’s strong maritime preparedness under Admiral Naveed Ashraf.

Dar also acknowledged the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stating that diplomatic outreach during Marka-e-Haq effectively presented Pakistan’s position on international platforms and strengthened global understanding of its response.

He further emphasized that lasting peace in South Asia remains linked to the resolution of core disputes, particularly the Jammu and Kashmir issue, in line with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s stance, he said the country remains committed to peace, dialogue, and diplomacy, but will respond firmly to any threat against its sovereignty with national unity and full strength.

He added that the anniversary is not only a remembrance of past events but also a call to build a stronger Pakistan in defence, economy, education, and social development.

“Let this day renew our collective pledge: to stand united; to reject division; to work tirelessly for a peaceful and prosperous Pakistan — because the spirit of Marka-e-Haq lives not just in our history, but also in our hearts – now and forever Inshallah. Pakistan Zindabad,” he concluded.
