Europe faces serious security risk from Afghanistan under Taliban rule: Report
Terrorism growing under the Taliban regime in Afghanistan has become a serious threat not only for the region but also for Europe, according to reports.
A leaked European Union security assessment has revealed alarming details about rising extremist activities linked to Afghanistan under Taliban control. The report says that security risks originating from the country are now reaching European nations.
The 23-page EU threat assessment highlights that Europe is facing increasing challenges related to violent extremism and terrorism due to developments in Afghanistan.
According to the report, the ISIS-Khorasan group operating in Afghanistan is now considered one of the most dangerous external threats to Europe.
It also warns that terrorist groups inside Afghanistan are using the internet and social media platforms to spread propaganda and mislead young people.
The report further states that platforms like Telegram and TikTok are being used to recruit and brainwash children as young as 12 years old.
Experts believe that the leaked document supports the long-standing position that instability in Afghanistan under the Taliban regime continues to fuel extremism and cross-border security threats.
Analysts say Afghanistan has now become a hub for extremist networks, online radicalization, and international security risks, posing challenges not only for the region but also for Europe.
