PM Shehbaz urges AKDN to expand and strengthen partnership with Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hosted a breakfast meeting with Prince Rahim Aga Khan V during his first official visit to Pakistan.
The Prime Minister welcomed him warmly and appreciated his efforts for peace, development, and cooperation with countries around the world. He said Pakistan values its long partnership with the Aga Khan Development Network.
Shehbaz Sharif encouraged AKDN to further expand its work in Pakistan, especially in remote areas like Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral. He praised its services in education, healthcare, rural development, disaster support, clean energy, and youth training.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the important role of Aga Khan University in improving education and medical services in the country.
He said AKDN is a trusted partner in helping Pakistan deal with climate change and glacier-related risks in northern areas. He also thanked Prince Rahim for his support and said Pakistan will always remain like a second home for him.
During the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif also expressed condolences on the death of Prince Rahim’s father, Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, and praised his lifelong humanitarian work.
Prince Rahim Aga Khan V thanked the Prime Minister for the warm welcome and said he wants to continue working with Pakistan on development projects in the future.
