Authorities in Islamabad have decided to launch a large-scale operation against illegal encroachments in the city.
According to sources, the Capital Development Authority (CDA), district administration, and police have prepared an operation framework and sent it to the Ministry of Interior for approval.
Officials said that CDA enforcement teams, along with police, Frontier Corps (FC), and Rangers, will take part in the operation.
In the first phase, authorities plan to clear several informal settlements in different sectors of Islamabad. These include areas in G-7, I-9, Mehr Abadi, and other nearby katchi abadis.
Sources said that CDA enforcement teams will issue notices to all illegal occupants, giving them one month to vacate the areas voluntarily.
Residents will be instructed to leave the settlements on their own to avoid forced action.
Officials added that if the areas are not vacated within the given time, a full operation will be carried out using heavy machinery to remove encroachments.
