Taylor Swift Tears Up During Historic Hall of Fame Speech
On Thursday night, at the Songwriters Hall of Fame 2026 induction ceremony, held at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City, Taylor Swift became visibly emotional and broke down in tears.
Ahead of her speech, Swift took the stage performed Sombr a tribute featuring “Cardigan” and “Dear John.”
Swift reflected on her 23-year journey in music in her 21-minute speech, thanked her family and collaborators, and mentors for supporting her from the beginning from a young, hopeful songwriter with big dreams to one of the most influential artists today.

For swift, the support of her family is the most important for her career achievement, particularly when they left Pennsylvania and moved to Nashville to support her songwriting career, shared her parents and brother made such a big sacrifice for her dream and it meant the world to her.
She became emotional while speaking about her family and said words could never fully capture her gratitude, and that they were the reason she stood there that night.
The emotional scene touched with the audience who responded with warm applause.
Swift appeared at the ceremony with her fiancé Travis Kelce, not only him her mother Andrea Swift and Travis mother Donna Kelce were also present there, and making the evening even more star-studded Hollywood director Steven Spielberg was also present at their table.
