Arslan Naseer Compares Iran’s World Cup Participation With India-Pakistan Sports Tensions

Pakistani actor Arslan Naseer has slam India through drawing comparison between ongoing political tensions in the regions impact on international sports participation.

At first, the actor point out on his Instagram story, highlighted that, Iran is still expected to take part in the FIFA World Cup 2026 in the United State, this example he uses to underline the contrast between countries behavior involved in political disputes and their participation in global sports events. Not only this, then he referred to India suggesting that it continues to avoid sporting relations with Pakistan and even refuses basic sporting gestures like handshakes.

Arslan Naseer also pointed to a former military confrontation, indicating that, it seems like that defeat still influence India’s approach toward Pakistan in sports and other interactions. As per his observation sports should remain separate from politics and should instead promote unity and connection between nations.

The actor also shared this message through a whole video, in which he further explained his viewpoint. In the video, he questioned India’s decision not to participate in bilateral sports events with Pakistan or travel for matches. He also emphasized the long-standing gap in cricket ties between the two countries, like since 2012, they have not played a bilateral series except meet during ICC tournaments.

Point to be noted that, for years, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not allowed bilateral cricket with Pakistan, generally due to political tensions between the two countries. Despite that, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shows interest in resuming full cricketing ties over and over again.
