Pakistan and Iran Interior Ministers Discuss Regional Situation and Bilateral Cooperation

Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni in Islamabad, where the two sides held detailed discussions on Pakistan-Iran relations and the regional situation following the recent peace agreement. Momeni thanked Pakistan for the warm welcome extended to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and his delegation during their visit.

During the meeting, both ministers expressed satisfaction over the easing of regional tensions. Mohsin Naqvi congratulated his Iranian counterpart on the joint declaration and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region. He said Pakistan would continue its efforts to support lasting peace in the Middle East, adding that the peace agreement is expected to have far-reaching positive consequences for regional stability.

The two ministers also agreed to enhance cooperation in key areas, including security, counterterrorism, and cybersecurity. They pledged to further strengthen collaboration between the interior ministries of both countries. Momeni also announced plans for a comprehensive visit to Pakistan in the near future to advance bilateral cooperation and discuss matters of mutual interest.
