An Iranian official has said that representatives from more than 90 countries, along with religious leaders, scholars, and other prominent figures, have expressed readiness to attend funeral ceremonies for Iran’s Supreme Leader, Martyred Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The remarks were made by an official organizing committee member during a press conference in Tehran.
Ali Akbar Pourjamshidian, Iran’s Deputy Interior Minister for Security Affairs and secretary of the funeral organizing committee, said more than 30 countries have already formally requested to send high-level delegations. He added that preparations were underway for what he described as a major national and international event.
Pourjamshidian also said the ceremony had been postponed to allow additional time for organization amid the country’s current circumstances.
