IRGC Says Separatist Militant Group Foiled Near Iran’s Northwestern Border

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said its Ground Force has dismantled a separatist militant group that allegedly attempted to infiltrate the country’s northwestern border to carry out acts of sabotage and terrorism. The announcement was made on Thursday in a statement issued by the Hamzeh Seyed al-Shohada Base.

According to the IRGC, the group was affiliated with the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan, which Iranian authorities describe as a separatist organization. The statement said the militants crossed into Iran through the northwestern border region with the intention of conducting sabotage and terrorist operations.

The IRGC said its forces tracked the group’s movements through intelligence operations before launching an ambush that resulted in the group’s complete dismantling. Iranian authorities did not immediately provide further details regarding casualties, arrests, or the exact location of the operation.
