GTA 6 now just 20 weeks away from release
Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) is now just 20 weeks away from its official worldwide release. Rockstar Games has confirmed that GTA 6 will launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The game will not be available on PC at launch.
Fans have started counting down the weeks, with many sharing excitement and countdown posts on social media. Rockstar recently opened global pre-orders for the game after years of waiting and rumors.
The release date has changed several times. Rockstar first planned to launch GTA 6 in 2025 but delayed it to May 26, 2026 because the game needed more development time. The studio later moved the release to November 19, 2026, saying it wanted to deliver the high quality fans expect.
GTA 6 is set in the fictional state of Leonida and brings players back to the famous Vice City. The game will feature two main characters, Jason and Lucia, with Lucia becoming the first female lead in the modern Grand Theft Auto series.
The launch of GTA 6 is expected to be one of the biggest events in gaming history. Many game publishers are changing their release plans to avoid competing with Rockstar’s new title. Retailers are also expecting higher demand for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles before the game’s release.
There are also rumors that Michael De Santa, a popular character from GTA V, could return in GTA 6. However, Rockstar has not confirmed this, and there is still no news about Trevor’s return.
