Iran Security Chief Says Massive Funeral Crowds Signal Resolve After Ayatollah Khamenei’s Martyrdom

Iran’s top security official has said the large crowds attending the funeral ceremonies of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, reflect the Iranian nation’s unity and determination. In a post on X on Sunday, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Mohammad Baqer Zolqadr said mourners were united in their calls for “resistance against enemies” and “revenge for the blood” of the late Leader.

Zolqadr said the massive turnout at the farewell ceremonies demonstrates the resilience of the Iranian people despite external pressure. “Keep your eyes on Iran these days. This is the same Iran that you thought you could bring to its knees in just a few days,” he wrote, describing the funeral gatherings as a powerful display of national solidarity.

The SNSC secretary characterized the mourners as a “roaring sea of people” whose presence, he said, conveyed a message of continued resistance against Iran’s adversaries. His remarks came as millions of people gathered to pay their final respects to Ayatollah Khamenei during funeral ceremonies held across the country.
