PM Shehbaz, Malaysian Counterpart Discuss Bilateral Ties, Regional Peace Efforts

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, during which the two leaders discussed bilateral relations, trade and investment, and regional developments.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif inquired about Anwar Ibrahim’s health and wished him a speedy recovery. The two leaders expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of Pakistan-Malaysia cooperation and resolved to further strengthen trade and investment ties.
The situation in the Gulf and broader regional developments also came under discussion. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for regional peace and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their leadership in advancing these efforts.
Prime Minister Shehbaz thanked Malaysia for its consistent support for Pakistan’s regional peace initiatives and reaffirmed Islamabad’s resolve to work closely with friendly countries, including Malaysia, to promote peace in the Middle East.
Both leaders agreed to meet at a mutually convenient time in the near future. Prime Minister Shehbaz also reiterated his invitation to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to undertake an official visit to Pakistan at his earliest convenience.
