China Tells New US Sanctions on Iran Are Not the Solution

BEIJING: China has rejected the idea that US sanctions and economic pressure on Iran can solve the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said sanctions and pressure would not help resolve the situation. He called on all parties involved to act responsibly and work toward a political and diplomatic solution.

China also stressed the importance of resolving the regional conflict through dialogue and peaceful means instead of increasing pressure on Iran.

The statement came after the United States urged several countries, including China, to support efforts aimed at isolating Iran’s economy.

Beijing’s latest comments show its opposition to using economic sanctions and pressure as a way to resolve the dispute and its support for diplomatic efforts.
