Prince Harry Makes First Public Appearance After High Court Defeat
On Wednesday, Prince Harry UK visit without his wife, Meghan Markle and kids, continued by joining an engagement at the Royal Hospital Chelsea in London, it was private meeting with any media presence.
The CEO of the Royal Hospital Chelsea David Richmond, he is also a trustee of Invictus Games founder welcomed Prince Harry, also greeted former Invictus Games competitor Josh Boggi and Deputy CEO Richard Smith during the visit.
At the Royal Hospital Chelsea, Harry joined international team managers to review preparations for the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham. Later, the Duke joined former Invictus Games hosts and partners to discuss the future of the event for wounded and injured veterans and service personnel.
No external press was permitted into the event in London, which is part of his five-day run of solo visits in the UK. Plans for pool media coverage changed the day before and the decision was attributed to the heatwave, however the duke is set to continue allowing pooled media to cover remaining events this week.
Although Meghan Markle was initially expected to accompany Harry, it was confirmed before his trip that she and the couple’s two children would remain in California. It is still unclear whether they will join him later during his UK visit.
Wednesday’s engagement marked Harry’s first public appearance after his High Court defeat against the Daily Mail publisher. Harry and some other public figures had blamed the publisher of illegally assembly private information, but the court lay off the statements.
Harry shows his dissatisfaction on the courts verdict, stating that the court had failed to provide the justice and accountability he had expected.
The Duke of Sussex’ UK visit also marked another disappointment during as he is unable to stay at Buckingham Palace.
Harry’s spokesperson noted that an offer from King Charles was withdrawn at the last minute, calling the decision “disappointing.”
Even after these recent disappointments, Prince Harry has continued with his official engagements, keeping his focus on the Invictus Games and its future development.
