Yemen Issues Warning to Regional Hosts of US Bases

10 July, 2026 19:48

Yemen has condemned the latest US military attacks on Iran after American forces reportedly targeted southern parts of Iran despite a ceasefire.

In a statement, Yemen’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned countries in the region that host US military bases against allowing their territories to be used for attacks on other countries. The ministry said such actions could have serious consequences.

The statement said, “The foreign presence in the region is inherently a threat to the region itself. It is an illegitimate presence and a form of occupation.”

It also added, “Therefore, using these bases against any front within the axis of resistance is considered an attack on the entire resistance.”

Yasser Al-Houri, former Secretary General of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council, said every group in the resistance would respond to any attack carried out from US military bases in the region, whether they are in the Persian Gulf, Somalia, or elsewhere.

According to the report, the United States has military sites in several West Asian countries, including Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates.

Political analyst Abdalallah Hidarah said Iran has the right to target bases that are used to launch attacks against it. He also said people across the region are becoming more aware of who they believe is responsible for the conflict.

Many people in Sana’a also expressed support for Iran. Some called on Yemen to permanently close the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait to countries they accuse of supporting Israel.

The report said Yemen has already shown its willingness to take military action. It referred to the March 28 launch of the Unity Front, during which Yemeni forces fired ballistic missiles toward military sites in occupied Palestine and blocked shipping linked to the Zionist regime in the Red Sea.

The report added that Iran and its allies believe lasting stability in the region cannot be achieved while foreign military forces remain present. It said Yemen has warned that countries hosting foreign military bases could face the consequences of continued regional conflict.
