Hyderabad Police Arrest Two Suspects in Dr Akash Murder Case

KARACHI: Police have arrested two suspects in the murder of Dr. Akash, who was shot dead outside a bank in Karachi earlier this week, according to police sources.

The suspects were arrested by Hyderabad Police. Police sources said they are linked to the Aslam Baba criminal gang, which also includes a woman. The suspects are said to be repeat offenders who have previously been in jail.

Meanwhile, CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced. The video shows a suspect running toward Dr Akash’s car near Teen Talwar in Clifton. The gunman first fired at a security guard, then opened the car door and grabbed a bag containing cash.

The footage shows the suspect picked up one bag in a hurry while another bag remained with Dr Akash. The attacker then shot the doctor before fleeing, causing panic among people in the area.

Dr Akash’s uncle, Khem Chand, said the victim’s father and cousin were also present during the incident. He said Dr Akash belonged to a business family and had been working at Jinnah Hospital for the past two years.

He expressed concern over the law and order situation and urged Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and other authorities to take immediate action. Dr Akash was 28 years old and unmarried.
