AJK Officials Accuse Banned Committee of Disrupting Peace, Vow Continued Operations

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) officials have accused a banned action committee of attempting to destabilize the region, saying authorities will continue security operations until all major roads are cleared. Speaking at a press conference, AJK Home Secretary Chaudhry Guftar Hussain alleged that the group had been disrupting peace for the past 38 days and was using protests under the guise of demanding rights to advance propaganda and political pressure.
The home secretary claimed the group’s activities were aimed at undermining the historic relationship between Pakistan and Kashmir and promoting an anti-Pakistan narrative. He added that Rangers personnel had been deployed to Rawalakot to assist police in maintaining law and order, and said operations would continue until all highways were fully reopened. He also alleged that the strikes and protests had caused economic losses worth billions of rupees in AJK.
Separately, AJK Education Secretary Qazi Inayat Ali accused the banned committee of using women and children as human shields during demonstrations. He described the participation of children and female students in protest activities as condemnable.
