Balochistan Chief Minister Says Terror Plot Against Pakistan Will Be Defeated

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti said on Saturday that a coordinated conspiracy against Pakistan would be defeated through the combined resolve of the Pakistan Armed Forces and the people of Balochistan. Speaking to the media, he said the Mangi Dam project, which is vital for supplying water to parts of the province, had been targeted because of its strategic importance.

Referring to the recent security incident, Bugti said terrorists attacked police personnel and later targeted the security force that rushed to provide assistance. He also alleged that militants brutally killed local residents for refusing to support them. The chief minister announced that a judicial commission had been formed to investigate the incident, adding that all facts would be presented before the nation.

Commenting on the political situation, Bugti criticized what he described as misleading propaganda by some political leaders during the Quetta sit-in regarding the state. He also said Pakistan had given a strong response to Indian aggression under the leadership of the country’s Field Marshal and maintained that the entire nation stood shoulder to shoulder during successful “Marka e Haq” Operation.
