US Launches Fresh Airstrikes on Iran After American Troops Killed

On Saturday, The US military launched renewed a fresh round of airstrikes on Iran, saying the operation was targeting as swiftly punish” Tehran following the killing of American service members.

CENTCOM said in a post on X. “The strikes are designed to further degrade Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and swiftly punish Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces who launched attacks against American service members in Jordan last night.”

Iran’s former deputy oil minister, Asghar Ebrahimi-Asl, said on Saturday that the United States was expanding its military presence in countries including the UAE and hiring foreign mercenaries as part of preparations for an incursion into Iran.

He claimed that Qeshm Island, parts of Kharg Island, and stretches of Iran’s southern coast could be targeted, and said Washington may defer any ground incursion until September due to cooler weather.

During an interview with the New York Post on Saturday, As the United States carried out retaliatory strikes against Iran, President Donald Trump compared the casualties to those in earlier American conflicts, saying the attack revealed “how bad” Iran was.

Trump told the New York Post, “Have you ever asked how many people died in Vietnam? Have you ever asked how many people died in Afghanistan in one day? In one day — run by Sleepy Joe Biden.”
