Pakistan, Belarus Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation in Multiple Sectors

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a meeting with Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) Meeting in Cholpon-Ata.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the current status of Pakistan-Belarus bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to further expanding cooperation across various fields.

The two foreign ministers also discussed preparations for the 9th Session of the Pakistan-Belarus Joint Ministerial Commission, which is scheduled to be hosted by Pakistan in Islamabad on August 11–12, 2026. They also emphasized the importance of maintaining regular high-level exchanges to enhance mutual cooperation.

The two leaders explored ways to strengthen economic and trade ties while expanding collaboration in key sectors, including defence, agriculture, technology, and workforce exchange.

Both sides reiterated their commitment to implementing the Roadmap for Comprehensive Cooperation (2025–2027) aimed at promoting broader partnership between Pakistan and Belarus.

The two ministers also exchanged views on regional developments and matters of mutual interest.

Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in facilitating dialogue during the U.S.-Iran situation and acknowledged Pakistan’s continued efforts toward promoting regional peace, stability, and security.

The meeting reflected the growing engagement between Pakistan and Belarus, with both countries expressing resolve to further strengthen diplomatic, economic, and strategic cooperation.
