West Bank Struggle Crucial for Victory Over Occupation: Abu Obeida

The military spokesperson for the al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeida, praised Palestinians in the West Bank and young activists for confronting Israeli forces and settlers. He also called for further action to protect Palestinian holy sites and lands.

His comments came after a settler attack in the Palestinian town of Tell, southwest of Nablus. The Palestinian Ministry of Health said four Palestinians were killed and four others were injured, including three in critical condition.

Palestinian youths reportedly confronted the attackers. One youth reportedly took a weapon from a settler and opened fire, killing one Israeli settler and injuring two others.

Abu Obeida praised “our steadfast people in the West Bank of Yahya Ayyash” and the “youth of Palestinian Intifada” for confronting Israeli forces and settler groups in Nablus, Jenin and al-Quds.

He said those who confronted the settlers had “avenged their Al-Aqsa Mosque,” referring to ongoing incidents at the holy site.

“Let this criminal enemy know that Al-Aqsa has defenders who will protect it, that the Palestinian people will not accept humiliation or injustice, and that the hearts of our youth burn as they witness the desecration of Al-Aqsa, the Judaization of the West Bank, the demolition of homes, and the usurpation of lands, while Gaza is being massacred,” he said. “The escalation of its aggression will bring it nothing but woes.”

The statement followed reports that more than 3,200 Israeli settlers entered Al-Aqsa Mosque on Thursday during the so-called “Temple Destruction Anniversary”, with Israeli forces providing protection.

Abu Obeida also called on Palestinians, clans and security personnel to defend their religious sites, dignity and land.

“Let everyone know that our people’s true struggle with the occupation is in the occupied West Bank, and we are confident that it will be the key to achieving total victory over this Nazi occupier,” Abu Obeida concluded.
