Tehran: Iran’s Health Minister Mohammad Reza Zafarghandi has said that recent U.S. military strikes on the country’s southern regions martyred 60 people and left nearly 670 others injured, underscoring the heavy human toll of the attacks.

According to Iranian state media, Zafarghandi said the strikes were carried out over a period of 10 to 12 days, targeting multiple locations in southern Iran. He stated that the attacks martyred 60 Iranian civilians and wounded hundreds more.

The health minister described the humanitarian consequences of the strikes as severe, saying hospitals and emergency medical teams had been working continuously to provide treatment to the injured. He added that many of the wounded required specialized medical care because of the intensity of the attacks.

Iranian officials have strongly condemned the U.S. military operation, accusing Washington of violating international law and putting civilian lives at risk. Tehran has also called on the international community to hold those responsible accountable and to prevent further escalation in the region.

The latest casualty figures were released amid ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States following recent military confrontations. The Health Ministry’s figures represent one of the most detailed official assessments of the human cost of the strikes to date.

The casualty figures have not been independently verified, and U.S. officials have not immediately commented on the latest statement issued by Iran’s Health Ministry.
