New Rain Spell Expected Across Pakistan From August 1
A new spell of rain is expected to enter different parts of Pakistan from August 1, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
The weather department has forecast rain from July 29 to August 5 in several areas of the country. Rain is also expected in Karachi and different districts of Sindh.
Moist winds from the Bay of Bengal are likely to enter Karachi during the first 10 days of August. The city may receive intermittent rain from July 29 to August 2.
Heavy rainfall could cause urban flooding in low-lying areas, while landslides and rising water levels in local streams are possible in mountainous areas.
Strong winds, thunderstorms and heavy rain may also damage weak infrastructure. Citizens in Karachi have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel and take precautionary measures.
Relevant authorities have been directed to remain alert and take necessary steps in advance to deal with the expected weather conditions.
