Atif Aslam Opens Up About Creativity, Fame and His New Album ‘Subah Aye Na’

With his fourth studio album,’Subah Aye Na’, set for release, Atif Aslam has reflected on the personal journey that inspired his first studio album in almost 20 years.

Revealing in latest interviews, Atif Aslam said continuous on tour and performing over the years slowly dissociated him from himself as an artist.

“I forgot who I was, so I went back to zero,” he said. “People made me a star by the grace of God, but now it was time for me to become an artist.”

According to Atif Aslam, ‘Subah Aye Na’ is his greatest delicate musical project yet. Atif said he desired his new music to come from the heart and reflect his own journey rather than making music mainly for fans or the music industry.

“I’ve always been making music for people, my listeners and the music industry,” he said. “This time, I wanted to do something for myself, and through this album, I found myself again.”

Furthermore, as an artist reflecting his 25-years journey, the singer said his busy schedule of concerts and commercial projects left little time to connect with his creativity.

He said, “All of that has been a blessing, but I felt it was finally time to look within and create what my heart truly wanted.”

This time, Atif avoided giving himself a fixed deadline let the album develop naturally before its release.

“I didn’t want to be driven by timelines,” he said. “I wanted the music to come straight from the soul.”

The singer also confessed that he had intended to release one more album much earlier but couldn’t broad it.

“I was working on it, but I couldn’t put it together,” he said with a laugh. “To be honest, I was lazy. But eventually, you have to decide when you’ll perform for people and when you’ll create your own music. You need to do both.”

Talking about his future plans, Atif said he hopes ‘Subah Aye Na’ is the start of a new chapter in his career. He plans to release a new album every year and stay more consistent with his original music.
