Salman Khan, Alvira Khan Named in Being Human Jewellery Franchise Dispute

Salman Khan and his sister Alvira Khan Agnihotri called by district court in Chandigarh in an alleged Being Human jewellery dispute, with the next hearing scheduled for October 5.

The dispute stems from a complaint submitted by Chandigarh businessman Arun Gupta, Being Human jewellery store owner which is established in Manimajra and later raised allegations against the brand. Gupta claimed that he invested close to Rs 3 crore in the showroom after signing a franchise agreement with the company handling Being Human’s jewellery business.

The businessman claimed that he was given several assurances, including marketing support, regular jewellery supplies and promotional assistance and promotional support featuring Salman Khan at the showroom’s inauguration. Gupta alleged that these commitments were not honoured, causing heavy losses and forcing him to close the business.

The controversy emerged in 2021 when Chandigarh Police directed an investigation into the allegations and required answers from Salman Khan, Alvira Khan, and other persons involved.

The foundation and its licensing partner have secured their position, saying that the agreement was solely between the licensed company and the complainant, with no direct involvement from Salman Khan, Alvira Khan, or the foundation.

The court has scheduled the next hearing for October 5 and instructed all indicted parties to present. The claims against them are still subject to legal examination and have not been proven.
