Iranian Drone and Missile Threat: Air Defense Deployed at Trump’s Golf Club

WASHINGTON: Air defense systems have been deployed around US President Donald Trump’s private golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, amid concerns about possible Iranian drone and missile attacks.

According to the US defense website The War Zone, recent videos and photographs from the golf club show air defense equipment positioned in the area while Trump was present for the final round of a golf tournament.

The footage reportedly shows an Avenger air defense system, designed to engage short-range aerial threats. A Sentinel air defense radar was also seen in the area.

The White House has confirmed the authenticity of the videos and photographs, indicating that additional security measures were in place while the president was at the golf club.

Security concerns became more visible when two civilian aircraft entered a temporary no-fly zone around the golf club while Trump was there.

According to the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), US F-16 fighter jets intercepted the two aircraft and safely escorted them out of the restricted airspace.

NORAD also urged pilots to check the latest official airspace guidance before every flight.

US media reported that the two civilian aircraft were operating near Trump’s private golf club, where the president was spending the weekend.

A White House video released on August 1 also showed Trump speaking with US troops at Bedminster. An Avenger air defense system could be seen in the background.
