50 Palestinians Receive Mass Funeral in Gaza After Bodies Recovered

Hundreds of people gathered at Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City on Thursday for funeral prayers for 50 Palestinians whose remains were recently recovered from beneath homes destroyed during Israeli attacks. Their families and relatives attended the farewell ceremony before the victims were buried in cemeteries across the city, more than two years after their deaths.

Gaza Civil Defense teams recovered the remains amid severe shortages of heavy machinery, equipment, fuel and other logistical supplies needed for rescue and recovery operations. Field sources said the victims belonged to the al-Sawafiri, al-Batniji and Karam families and were buried beneath collapsed homes during Israeli strikes.

Gaza’s Civil Defense agency urged local and international media organizations to attend the funeral ceremonies and document the suffering of Palestinian families who lost loved ones during the Israeli offensive. The agency said such documentation was important to highlight the scale of destruction and the plight of victims whose remains remain trapped beneath the rubble.
