Sindh Government Spokesperson Criticizes Punjab Information Minister Over Rainwater Claims

Sindh government spokesperson Sumeta Afzal has criticized Punjab Information Minister Azma Zahid Bukhari over her recent remarks, saying the statement was completely disconnected from the ground realities. Afzal alleged that Bukhari was making misleading claims about rainwater being cleared within a few hours in Rawalpindi and Lahore.

Afzal said rainwater had still entered homes in several areas of Lahore and Rawalpindi, despite the Punjab government’s claims of rapid drainage. She urged the Punjab information minister to focus on the destruction caused by heavy rains and flooding and on the difficulties being faced by people across the province.

The Sindh government spokesperson also called on the Punjab government to spend public funds on assisting rain-affected people instead of using government resources for photo opportunities. She said greater attention should be given to relief and rehabilitation efforts for communities affected by the rains and flooding.
