Iranian Army Announces Shift from Defensive to Offensive Policy
Iran’s military has announced that its military doctrine is gradually shifting from a defensive approach to a more offensive strategy following recent wars.
Brigadier General Mohammad Akramnia, a spokesperson for the Iranian Army, told the official news agency that the change developed gradually during the 12-day and 40-day wars.
He said Iran’s military doctrine had traditionally focused on defense, but the experience of recent conflicts has pushed it toward a more offensive approach.
According to Akramnia, the change can be seen in faster and broader responses to attacks, as well as preparations for pre-emptive actions.
He also said the Army has prepared a plan that includes rewards for killing or capturing US troops if American forces carry out a ground incursion into Iranian territory.
