Ishaq Dar to Undertake Official Visit to UK from August 24 to 28

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will undertake an official visit to the United Kingdom from August 24 to 28, the Foreign Office spokesperson said. During the visit, Dar will meet British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper, Minister of State Stephen Doughty and other senior officials of the UK government.

Dar will also meet the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization, where the issue of Pakistani crew members detained by Somali pirates is expected to be discussed. He will further hold talks with the Secretary-General of the Commonwealth and meet members of the British Parliament.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the visit will provide an important opportunity to strengthen high-level Pakistan-UK contacts and further expand bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
