Pakistan Makes Strong Representation at Global Child Protection Conference in Melbourne

Pakistan has made a strong representation at the Global Conference on Child Protection in Melbourne, with a high-level delegation participating in discussions focused on strengthening child rights and protection systems. The delegation included Child Protection and Welfare Bureau Chairperson Sarah Ahmed, Secretary Human Rights Abdul Khaliq Sheikh and Director Human Rights Dr Arif.

Sarah Ahmed said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the government are taking effective measures to protect children’s rights, with stronger legislation and practical initiatives among key priorities. She said Pakistan’s child protection system is being further strengthened to make it more effective and responsive to the needs of children.

The Pakistani delegation also held meetings with international experts and discussed effective child protection mechanisms and best practices. The delegation reviewed global child protection models and practical approaches aimed at improving institutional capacity and ensuring greater protection and welfare for children.
