Iran Army Chief: Armed Forces Seek Victory Through Resistance

Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army, Major General Amir Hatami, has described martyrdom as a cherished aspiration of Iran’s Armed Forces while stressing that their primary objective is to defeat the enemy through resistance and combat. Addressing a congress honoring 3,785 martyred Army personnel in Gilan Province, Hatami said martyrdom was an honor and a heartfelt wish, but victory through steadfast resistance remained the priority.
Hatami said that during the recent US-Israeli aggression against Iran, the enemy sought to destroy the country’s missile and drone capabilities. However, he said, Iran’s Armed Forces continued launching missiles and drones against the enemy with maximum intensity until the final moments of the aggression. He added that Iranian forces also maintained a firm defense across multiple fronts, including air defense, damaging a number of enemy unmanned and manned aircraft as well as strategic equipment.
The Army chief rejected claims by Iran’s adversaries that the country’s Armed Forces had been weakened or destroyed, saying such assertions did not reflect reality. Hatami stressed that Iran’s military had remained resilient in the face of the aggression and would continue confronting its enemies with strength, innovation, creativity and courage.
