CDA Officers Association, GSIS Sign MoU for Employees’ Children’s Education

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Officers Association and Global System of Integrated Studies (Private) Limited (GSIS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide improved educational facilities and financial concessions to the children of CDA officers and employees.

A signing ceremony was held on Thursday and attended by CDA Member Estate Muhammad Zaman Watto, CDA Officers Association General Secretary Chaudhary Kamran Bakht, Principal and Director Administration of GSIS Quratulain Ali Rizvi, along with other CDA officers and employees.

Under the agreement, GSIS will waive all one-time admission fees for the children of regular CDA employees. The refundable security deposit will also be fully waived, reducing the financial burden on CDA families.

CDA Officers Association General Secretary Chaudhary Kamran Bakht said admission and security fees had been completely waived under the agreement. He added that the most significant provision was a 50 percent reduction in monthly tuition fees, enabling children of CDA officers and employees to study at the institution at half the regular tuition cost.

The agreement also provides CDA employees’ children with priority during admissions, including first preference on the waiting list over applicants from the general public.

The children will have full access to the school’s academic facilities, co-curricular activities and student development programmes. They will be treated on an equal basis with regular fee-paying students, with no discrimination of any kind.

CDA Member Estate Muhammad Zaman Watto described the agreement as a significant milestone for the welfare of CDA employees and their families. He said the authority remained committed to protecting employees’ rights and ensuring their welfare, adding that the agreement reflected this commitment.

Labour Union General Secretary Chaudhary Muhammad Yaseen said hundreds of CDA employees’ children would benefit from quality education under the initiative. He said CDA employees played a pivotal role in the construction and development of Islamabad and deserved better educational opportunities for their children in recognition of their services.

GSIS Principal and Director Administration Quratulain Ali Rizvi said the institution was committed to providing quality and unbiased education while building strong partnerships with the community. She termed providing educational opportunities to the children of CDA employees in recognition of their services a moral responsibility and assured that every effort would be made to effectively implement the agreement.

The CDA Officers Association also assured GSIS of its cooperation in promoting education at the institution and in organising sports tournaments and other national-level events.

Chaudhary Kamran Bakht expressed special appreciation to CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Sohail Ashraf, saying the agreement had been made possible through his vision, guidance and education-friendly initiatives.
