Two senior officials quit Reform UK after a Channel 4 News report prompts the party to investigate claims about funding.

Undercover filming, carried out by Verbatim Investigations, shows Nigel Farage’s senior aide Dan Jukes suggesting a way to get around electoral law to secure a £500,000 foreign donation for Reform.

Jukes and James Orr, the party’s head of policy, have stepped down while the internal investigation takes place

BBC Reported also that Reform denies any wrongdoing and says it has “been the target of a hoax perpetuated by foreign-funded climate change activists”; Jukes says he has “stepped back from politics in order to clear my name”

Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission says it’s “in touch with” police. It is “considering all relevant information, in line with our regulatory remit”

In a few hours, Farage is due to speak at Reform’s party conference in Birmingham
