Majority of Pakistanis Support Creation of New Provinces

Public support for the creation of new provinces and administrative units is becoming more visible in Pakistan, with many people calling for better governance and solutions to public problems.

According to a Suno FM survey, 75.52 percent of Pakistanis openly supported the creation of new provinces. A total of 4,018 people took part in the survey, including 40.49 percent from Punjab, 35.52 percent from Sindh, 14.09 percent from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 2 percent from Balochistan.

The nationwide survey showed that 72.48 percent of respondents considered new provinces a key way to address public issues.

More than 40 percent of participants said the number of new provinces should be decided after consultation with experts. Meanwhile, 26.40 percent supported creating 24 new provinces, while 21.95 percent backed 12 new provinces. Another 11.45 percent supported six new provinces.

Experts said the survey results show that a large number of people see new provinces as a way to improve administration, address public problems and strengthen governance.
