US State Department Issues Security Alert Amid Rising Houthi Militia-Saudi Conflict

The US State Department has issued a fresh security alert for Americans in the Middle East.

The alert warns that the security environment remains “complicated” with the potential for “unprecedented escalation” in the conflict between the Iranian-backed Houthis and Saudi Arabia.

In a post on X, the US State Department’s consular affairs office said, “Americans in the Middle East need to exercise heightened vigilance at this time.”

The US warned its citizens of possible flight disruptions, airspace access and travel restrictions.

The unit said the Iranian-backed Houthis are involved in conflicts against Saudi Arabia and that civilian airports are being under attack. The military clash could intensify promptly.
