Security Forces Foil Human Smuggling Attempt in Balochistan

QUETTA: Security forces have detained 58 Afghan nationals, including women and children, during an operation in the Dasht Mirani area of Balochistan, according to security sources.

The operation was carried out as part of efforts to prevent illegal cross-border movement and human smuggling in the region.

Security sources said the detained Afghan nationals were allegedly being transported through Pakistan towards Iran and onward to Europe with the assistance of human smugglers.

The individuals were handed over to the relevant police authorities for further legal proceedings, the sources said.

Security forces have continued operations in border areas to prevent illegal movement and disrupt networks involved in human smuggling.

Authorities are also working to strengthen enforcement in sensitive border regions and ensure compliance with immigration and other applicable laws.

The latest action comes amid continued efforts by Pakistani authorities to address irregular migration and human-smuggling activities along the country’s western border.
